Congratulations Class of 2011!The University of Cincinnati

After a very brief dry spell in Cincinnati this spring, overnight thunderstorms were still looming through the morning of the University of Cincinnati's Commencement ceremonies, but they cleared out just as the morning ceremony got underway. Even better, the sun was shining brightly after the morning ceremony, allowing for family photos of graduates as they took one last look at UC's spectacular campus before setting off on their lives as UC alumni.

UC's Fifth Third Arena was filled to capacity for the June 11 celebrations, as 4,843 students applied for graduation this spring.

Alumni Life Begins at GraduationThe University of Cincinnati

When your child chose to attend the University of Cincinnati, a lifelong relationship began that will add tremendous value and fulfillment, both personally and professionally.

That relationship will be even greater if your young UC grad remains connected to the university through the UC Alumni Association (UCAA). In fact, the Alumni Association's programs and services are primarily focused on meeting the needs of recent graduates and Young Professionals.

Career Development CenterThe University of Cincinnati

Welcome to the Career Development Center at the University of Cincinnati. I'd like to give you a virtual tour of what the Career Development Center has to offer your son or daughter. Located on the 1st floor of the University Pavilion, we are just below One Stop.

Statistically, according to the National Association of Colleges and Employers, students who used the career center four or more times a semester were more likely to have job offers than those who used a career center only once during a semester. We have five career coaches who work with your student from freshman year through cap and gown to assist him/her in making the best presentation after college.

Professional Practice

The University of CincinnatiThe current job market can be especially intimidating for college graduates. However, as parents of UC students, you can rest assured that no UC student should graduate from the University without a variety of discipline-related, real-world experiences to support his or her degree through the Cooperative Education, Academic Internship and Service Learning programs.

UC Students Take on the WorldThe University of Cincinnati

Did you know that during the 2009-10 academic year 806 UC students received academic credit for leaving the United States to study, co-op, intern, and participate in service-learning in 57 different countries? Perhaps one (or more) of those students was a member of your family. If so, you have seen the transformative power that studying abroad has on a university student. If your son or daughter has not yet explored the possibilities of studying abroad, you can play a key role in encouraging them to do so.
