Semester Conversion Ready, Set, Semesters!

Each current University of Cincinnati undergraduate student in a degree-granting program who is transitioning to semesters on August 27, 2012, likely has his or her fall schedule already laid out.

UC Commencement

UC CommencementThe University of Cincinnati celebrated the All-University Commencement on June 8-9 in three ceremonies, with each ceremony including doctoral, master's, bachelor's and associate degree candidates. All ceremonies were held in Fifth Third Arena and led by UC President Gregory H. Williams.

UC Homecoming

UC HomecomingTwo days on the annual UC calendar stand out above all others. One is Commencement – the principal reason why students come to UC in the first place, as well as one of the proudest days a parent can experience.

The second is Homecoming, the annual celebration for everyone in the UC family, from alumni to students to parents. With UC's vibrancy and passion on full display, it's another day of parental pride.

UC Recognition CeremonyRecognition Ceremony

The annual University Recognition Ceremony, held on May 6, 2012, celebrated various student achievements over the course of the last year. The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of the Presidential Leadership Medal of Excellence, presented by President Gregory Williams.

The Albert B. Sabin Digitization Project

UC LibrariesWhile it's possible that you may not have heard of "polio," in the mid-twentieth century, it was known in every household. Those who remember "polio" can recall family, friends and neighbors who were affected by the devastating disease. One of the reasons why polio is almost unknown today is because of Dr. Albert B. Sabin, developer of the oral polio vaccine. This vaccine, which was developed while Dr. Sabin was at the University of Cincinnati and the Children's Hospital Research Foundation, has helped virtually eradicate polio from the globe.
